WE RECEIVED VOLUNTEERS FROM COLOMBIA TO WORK WITH THE ARTISANS.

This month we had the pleasure of welcoming Natalia Quiñones and Jennibeth Iguarán, Colombian volunteers who gave textile design workshops to our beneficiaries of the Yochib, San Andrés Larráinzar and Zinacatán communities. The craftswomen learned about color combinations based on the elements of the environment they are surrounded by, as a form of inspiration, creating collections, new products and more.

Because of the people who choose to volunteer on hands with the women of the indigenous communities, we’re able to create relationships and exchanges of ancestral knowledge and new forms of creating high-quality products and contemporary designs that adapt to the existing markets.

The women acquire new knowledge by generating new skills in order to improve their production, getting closer to the people who consume their products, and innovating with their creativity.

Natalia and Jennibeth, thank you for your great workshops, we appreciate your input!
